COLOPLAST

Internal signage and information system

For Coloplast, a world-leading manufacturer of plastics for the medical industry, Klint & Co. designed a signage and numbering system for the publicly accessible areas and offices.

The plan was to create a numbering concept that would uniquely identify each location on all addresses. Obviously, we reached a balance between the amount of locations/addresses and the degree of details in the information of the signs. Focus was constantly to develop as simple a signage system as possible.

Coloplast's philosophy of communication is: straight talking, listening and responding, leading the market - and last but not least: simplify, simplify.

Therefore, the design was based on simplicity without any decorative elements that we have used in other projects where the signs were part of the interior decoration.

A variety of options were tested based on the given architectural set-up. A simple naming using letters was eventually selected.

The finished sign, therefore, expresses location in the entire building complex as well as indicating the purpose/name of the individual rooms.

Furthermore, the system was designed so that the individual signs can easily be produced internally in the company's communications department without difficulty and without use of multi colours. Simple and cost efficient - and yet with a graphically powerful signal.
