CEMBRIT

Technical manuals and identity

Cembrit produces roof and facade elements for the building industry. A large part of Cembrit's publications is of a technical nature: product sheets, technical descriptions, and how-to manuals. It therefore makes sense to view these publications as an important part of Cembrit's overall visual identity.

Based on Cembrit's existing brochure layout, we developed a new concept for technical illustrations. These illustrations clearly show the technical details and, with a consistent use of colours, perspective angles, and close-ups adds to the overall perception of Cembrit as a company focussing on product quality and details.

Project content:

Creation of a standard for illustrations for use in technical manuals. The illustrations are built as digital models using Revit/3ds Max and cover both plans, cuts and perspectives.

During sketching, we tested a variety of rendering methods from simple line drawings to photorealistic visualizations. Eventually, a no-nonsense model was selected expressing seriousness as well as indicating that the individual illustrations are part of the bigger identity picture.
